Cenni storici

Ai confini di Giaveno e Trana, sull’altura di Colpastore, si trova il tempio monumento dedicato ai Caduti della Grande Guerra appartenenti ai comuni di Giaveno, Coazze, Valgioie, Trana, Sangano, Reano, Bruino, Villarbasse e Candiolo. Il tempietto è in stile romanico-bizantino ed è dedicato all’Angelo della Pace. Sulle pareti interne dell’edificio sono applicate 350 tavolette in marmo bianco che riportano inciso il nome dei caduti.

Sul coronamento esterno si vedono bombarde e proietti di grosso e piccolo calibro, insieme a trofei bellici donati dal Ministero della Guerra.

Il tempietto venne inaugurato il 12 ottobre 1919 con l’intervento di tutte le autorità Ecclesiastiche, Civili, Militari e con partecipazione della popolazione.

Historical notes

On the borders of Giaveno and Trana, on the heights of Colpastore, there is the temple dedicated to the Fallen of the Great War belonging to the town halls of Giaveno, Coazze, Valgioie, Trana, Sangano, Reano, Bruino, Villarbasse and Candiolo. The small temple is in Romanesque-Byzantine style and is dedicated to the Angel of Peace. On the internal walls of the building are applied 350 white marble tablets on which there are engraved the name of the fallen.

On the outer crown large and small-caliber shells can be seen, along with war trophies donated by the War office. The temple was inaugurated on October 12 1919 with the intervention of all the Ecclesiastical, Civil, Military authorities and with the participation of the population.
